Awara: It is one of the true classics which created a very intense on screen chemistry between Nargis and Raj Kapoor. Most of the story occupies the flashback in which a slum boy fells in love with a lawyer. The reunion of the two after twelve years was one of the most heart touching scenes.
Bobby: Bobby is amongst the top romantic movies. The movie revolved around two teenagers falling in love with each other. The song in which Dimple Kapadia and Rishi Kapoor gets locked up in a room is truly romantic.
Dil: Dil starring Madhuri Dixit and Aamir Khan was one of the hit romantic drama movies of 1990. It is a love story leading to an quarrel between the families of the two lovers. Like any other Hindi movies, story had a happy end with the two living happily ever after.
Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge: DDLJ as it is popularly called was the biggest hit of its time. Top Bollywood stars, Kajol and Shahrukh khan made the story seem real. The romantic scenes and the common Indian family scenes gave it rave reviews.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai: Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is also one of the big romantic movies. It is a love triangle where one dies (Rani Mukherjee) and gives the responsibility of reuniting the other two (Shahrukh and Kajol) to her daughter.
Andaz: The movie is a comic love triangle which shows complexity of love and silent longing. Andaz captures the imagination totally.
Devdas: In 1956, Devdas proved to be a blockbuster film. The film was remade with Shahrukh in the lead and was again a success. Devdas is a rich and handsome young man who is madly in love with her beautiful neighbour, Paro. Forced by circumstances, Paro marries a rich but ageing zamindar. Heart broken, Devdas takes too drinking and gains sympathy of a nautch girl Chandramukhi. The fim has a tragic end with Devdas dying infront of Paro house.
